WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Lois Jean (Bailey) Dalbeck, 66, of Wakefield, formerly a longtime resident of Thomaston, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2015.
Lois was born on Jan. 19, 1949, in Crandon, Wis., a daughter of Alvin and Joyce Geraldine (Sheldon) Bailey. She attended school in Idaho.
On May 1, 1964, Lois was united in marriage to Gary Armedas Dalbeck in Ceour d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Thomaston and were blessed with three children.
Lois is survived by a daughter, Joyce E. (Ron Basom) Dalbeck, of Wakefield; two sons, Clarence (Kristy), of Hurley, Wis., and George (Alicia), of Thomaston; her adopted daughter, Marnee (John) Bates, of Wakefield; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, Lainey, Madelyn, Emily, Allison, Connor, Haley and Christopher; a brother, George (Cheri) Bailey, of Athol, Idaho; her brother-in-law, Ron Burke, of St. Maries, Idaho; five sisters-in-law, Genevieve Nurmi, of Wakefield, Leola "Ducky" Cook, of Merriweather, Christine (Norman) Waurio, of Kimball, Wis., Mary (Mike) Wendell, of Alaska, and Sandra Dalbeck, of Wakefield; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; many special friends, including her Green Bay Packers pal, Carol Anderson, of Wakefield; and her faithful companion, Olaf "Olie."
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary, on Sept. 30, 2013; her sister, Judy Burke; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Elizabeth (Minier) Dalbeck; her stepfather-in-law, Wilbert Pikka; three brothers-in-law, Elmer Nurmi, Lloyd "John" Cook Jr., and Dalbert C. Dalbeck; and her sister-in-law and her husband, Clarice and Joe Sailer.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct 28, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield. The Rev. Antony Lukka, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield, will officiate.
A lunch will follow at the Dalbeck residence in Thomaston.
