Ironwood - With the event just around the corner, organizers of the 21st annual Jack Frost Parade met Monday to hash out the final details before Friday's event.

Friday's parade will begin at 6 p.m. sharp in front of the Ironwood Carnegie Library. The parade route will take the 31 entries down Aurora Street to the St. Vincent de Paul Store, according to Kim Kolesar, one of the parade's organizers.

The parade is expected to take approximately one hour, with several performances from participants throughout.

For the first time this year, Kolesar said Charter Communications will be set up in the showcase window of Main Street Fitness.

Following the parade, Kolesar said residents are invited to meet Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and Jack Frost at Rivers Valley Bank, also known as Santa's Headquarters.

The bank is also playing host to a display of gingerbread houses made as part the annual gingerbread building contest.

Over 80 gingerbread structures were entered in the contest with organizers saying participants coming from as far away as Washburn, Manitowish Waters and Ewen-Trout Creek.

For more information on the parade, residents can visit the Ironwood Chamber of Commerce or Jack Frost Headquarters at Hitt's Fine Furniture.
