Joyce Marie Davis

MADISON, Wis. — Joyce Marie Davis, 43, of Watersmeet, Mich., passed away peacefully in Madison on Dec. 18, 2015.

She was born July 23, 1972, in Ontonagon, Mich., to Mike and Phyllis (Cottenham) Davis. Joyce graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in 1990, and received an Associate’s Degree from Delta State University in 1995. She was employed at the Lac Vieux Desert Health Center as a medical coding and billing specialist.

Joyce was very community-oriented and was often the first to volunteer her time. She served on the Watersmeet Board of Education and enjoyed helping with cultural events. She was a very talented artist and was known especially for her sewing and beading. Joyce enjoyed making craft items to give to others.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorrie McGeshick; and grandmother, Jean Mongeon.

Joyce is survived by her parents; son, David Alan McGeshick Jr .; daughter, Tasha McGeshick; siblings, Crystal, Gordon and Byron Davis; uncle and aunt, Lenny and Carol Lundgren; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A feast for Joyce will be held at 6 p.m. (EST) at the Ewen Methodist Church today, Dec. 22. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 23, also at the Ewen Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Watersmeet Township Cemetery.
