MaryAnn Klopatek

MERCER, Wis. - MaryAnn Klopatek, 77, of North Popko Circle, Mercer, was born into eternal life on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 20, 1938, in Wauwatosa, daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Fedor) Swenson. MaryAnn was raised in Caledonia and attended Caledonia and Racine schools.

On May 28, 1955, she was married to John "Jack" H. Klopatek in Caledonia at the St. Louis Catholic Church.

For many years, John and MaryAnn would travel to the Mercer area, until moving there permanently on July 20, 1992.

She worked at the Klopatek Plumbing family business, where she attended to janitorial and gardening duties. MaryAnn enjoyed working the polls during elections.

MaryAnn was a volunteer at the Paw Shop. She was a member of St. Isaac Jogue's Catholic Church in Mercer. She was also a member of Mercer's TOPS and the Birthday Club.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John H. Klopatek; four sons, Gary (Pat) Klopatek, of Oak Creek, Randy (Karen) Klopatek, John (Mary) Klopatek and Scott (Missy) Klopatek, all of Mercer; a daughter; Julie (Jayme) Fehr, of Merrill; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Swenson, of Wautoma, and Ronald (Cheryl) Swenson, of Oak Creek; a sister, Carol (Jim) Baumann, of Racine County; and nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, John, Donald and Jerry; and a sister, Dorothy Dishaw.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Isaac Jogue's Catholic Church in Mercer at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. Father Ronald Serrao will be the celebrant. MaryAnn's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Saturday. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the church basement hall. Spring burial will be in the Mercer Cemetery.

Range Funeral Service Inc. of Hurley and Ironwood has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Mercer's Paw Shop for a Memorial Scholarship.
