Wisconsin state representative talks with Hurley Education Foundation

Hurley - The Hurley Education Foundation will host an art auction and concert on Friday, April 15 at the Hurley K-12 auditorium.

On Wednesday, the education foundation spoke about the upcoming event with State Rep. Beth Meyers, of Bayfield, in attendance.

They said Hurley native Lydia Patritto will perform on piano for the audience's listening pleasure.

She will be accompanied by Troy Puisto, a local guitarist and Hurley K-12 chemistry teacher. Together, they will be performing a set of original music.

While they perform, there will be a silent art auction for people to participate.

Jamey Francis, a foundation member, said about 10 local artist donated their time to create original artwork that will be auctioned off.

Francis said all proceeds from the auction will benefit the Hurley Education Foundation.

Food and beverages will be provided.

The foundation agreed tickets will $5 for students, $10 for adults.

Francis said tickets can be purchased at the school or the day of the event.

Meyers said she liked the event and will try to be there.

The Mission of the Hurley Education Foundation is to solicit, hold, manage, invest and expend endowment funds, gifts, grants and bequests exclusively for the enhancement of education in the Hurley School district.

The foundation is governed by volunteer board of trustees, which operates independently from the Hurley School Board of Directors.
