Eugene J. Zani

GILE, Wis. — Eugene J. Zani, 85, of Gile, passed away March 13, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Eugene was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Gile to Joseph and Mary Zani. He graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1949.

Eugene was a man of many talents and will be remembered mostly as your milkman. Some other endeavors included Calvi’s store, mechanic at Bessemer Plywood, school bus driver, and your local lawnmower repairman.

Eugene is survived by wife of 64 years, Pauline (Rowe); daughters, Evelyn (John) Swetkovich and Shauna (John) Eckwright; son, Eugene (Rita) Zani; grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Swetkovich, Jay (Amy) Swetkovich, Christine Zani, Sarah (Jonathan) Welch, Shawn Zani, Tyler Eckwright and Seth Eckwright; great-grandchildren, Lily and Luca Swetkovich, Cole and Caleb Swetkovich, Jayden, Ashton and Jaxson Welch; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Richard; sister, Evelyn; son, Gabriel Zani; and grandson, Kyle Swetkovich.

Out of respect for Eugene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date.
