Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
IRONWOOD — The Gogebic Community College Foundation is set to host the seventh annual Taste of the Gogebic Range on Monday, April 27 at the David G. Lindquist Center.
Kelly Marczak, GCC Foundation executive director, said the event will feature samplings and offerings of food and beverages from area restaurants, businesses and caterers. Samples will include soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, beverages and desserts.
“This is one of our favorite events of the year because it brings together so many community members in a fun, informal setting that involves delicious food samples and the opportunity to socialize with friends, while supporting an event that promotes local businesses and benefits GCC students,” she said.
A social hour will be offered from 5-6 p.m., followed by “The Taste” from 6-8 p.m. Marczak said coffee and punch will be available free of charge. Beer and wine will be available for purchase to complement food offerings, she said.
Marczak said there will be two contests during the event. The “Tasters’ Choice Award” will be voted on by attendees, and the “Best of Show Award” will be decided by special judges. Booths will be judged on overall display, presentation of food samples and taste. She said special awards and bragging rights are awarded to the winners.
Marczak said tickets are limited. Contact the GCC Foundation office at 906-932-4231, ext. 201, to get tickets.
She said all proceeds from the event benefit the foundation. The GCC foundation was established in 1977 as a nonprofit organization corporation and exists solely for the support and development of the college and its mission.
