PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Violet V. Campy, 93, of Platteville, died on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Gray's Nursing Home in Platteville.
Violet was born on June 13, 1922, in Marengo, daughter of Isaac and Sophie (Kari) Peltonen. She was united in marriage to Benard "Ben" Jackson, of Iron Belt, in 1942. They had five children, one dying in infancy. After the death of her husband, she married Bruno Campy of Seattle, on Aug. 24, 1963.
Her faith throughout her life was of great importance to her. She enjoyed her grandchildren and enjoyed having them stay with her frequently.
She is survived by her children, Rochelle Backman, Heather Castagna and Jack (Karen) Jackson; stepson, Michael (Cheri) Campy; six grandchildren, Michael Backman, Michele Rasmussen, Colleen Genthe, Katie Jackson, David Jackson and Daniel Jackson; two step-grandchildren, Lisa Campy-Demoure and Kelly Campy-Vig; 10 great-grandchildren, Amanda Hays, Haylee Backman, Reiden Backman, Benjamin Backman, Brittany Popko, Elaina Genthe, Paige Genthe, Max Rasmussen, Gunnar Rasmussen and George Jackson; stepgreat-grandson, Michael DeMoure; and great-great-grandson, Clayton Backman.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jay, in infancy, and Alan "Terry" Jackson; and son-in-law, Ken Backman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Stahl Funeral Home, 913 W. North St., Plainfield, WI. Wade Rasmussen will officiate. Burial will be at Richfield Good Shepherd Park Cemetery in Richfield.
