HANCOCK, Mich. - Mabel M. (Poncho) Williams, 74, of Watersmeet, died April 21, 2016 at Portage Hospital in Hancock.
She was born June 29, 1941, to Tory Williams Sr. and Lillian Anwash.
Mabel enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and playing slots at the casino. She was a very loyal Green Bay Packer fan, a Milwaukee Brewer fan and most of all a Michigan State fan.
She is survived by children, Susan (Tom Sr.) McGeshick, Gary Pete Jr. (Bernette), Cathy Pete and Trish Neitzel (Dan S.); brothers, James (Nancy) Williams, Richard (Jen) Williams, Tory Williams Jr., Tom Williams Sr., Lawrence (Jackie) Williams, Milan Williams and Warren Williams; sisters, Gertrude McGeshick, Linda Williams, JoAnn Williams and Lucy Williams; grandchildren, Eric, Erin and William McGeshick, Gary Pete III and Emily (Mike) Robison, James Hazen, Trevor McPherson and Thomas Richards; great-grandchildren, Donovan, Amelia, Kailan, Ellana and Madelyne McGeshick; and special friends, Jody and Emily Forstrom and Betty McGeshick; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Alice May and Loretta Williams; four infant siblings; granddaughter, Elisabeth Pete; and an infant great-grandchild.
A wake will be held today at 5 p.m. at the Lac Vieux Desert Recreation Center. A funeral will be held Sunday, April 24, at 11 a.m., also at the Recreation Center. Internment will be in Watersmeet Cemetery.
Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon is assisting the family.
