BEAVER GROVE, Mich. — Connie M. Ojaniemi, 67, of Beaver Grove, passed away Thursday morning, May 19, 2016, at her home.
Connie was born on Nov. 18, 1948, in Crystal Falls, to the late Wallace and Verle (Greenland) Routheaux. She married Larry Ojaniemi Jr. on Nov. 18, 1966, in Ontonagon.
She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey and was also active in the Senior Center. Connie enjoyed gardening, rummage saling, baking and outdoor activities that included fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. She also loved spending time with her family and pets.
Connie is survived by her children, Glenn Ojaniemi of Gladstone, Gary (Jan) Ojaniemi of North Pole, Alaska, and Grant (Mandy) Ojaniemi of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, David Killinger, Travis, Tyler and Eric Ojaniemi, Erikah, Samantha and Brittani Ojaniemi, and Katie and Ally Ojaniemi; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Beverly, Judy, Barbara, Eugene, Randy and Deke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ojaniemi Jr .; her parents; two sons, Gregory Ojaniemi and Larry Ojaniemi III; and her brother, Clyde.
A memorial service for Connie will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey at a date to follow.
