WATERSMEET, Mich. — Michael John McGeshick, also known as “Da Buggernaut,” 28, of Watersmeet, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 9, 2016.
He was born in Rhinelander, Wis., on June 7, 1988, to John Charles McGeshick and Sally Jean Van Zile. Michael was the type of person who always made his friends and family happy. He was an avid golfer and pool player. Michael was a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Although his life was short, he lived a good life and was a very caring person. Michael had great respect and love for his community, culture and their traditions. It was his wish to honor and carry on with those traditions.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Christina Galvan; brother, Brian Jacobson; sisters, Andrea (Marcus Russell) McGeshick and Gertrude (Brian Aimsback) McGeshick; grandmother, Gertrude McGeshick; nieces, Jade, Mya, Nahlani, Mariana, Clara, Jennifer and Gracie; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved pet, Coco.
Michael was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Tory Williams; great-grandmother, Lillian Anwash; grandfathers, Charles McGeshick and Henry K. Van Zile Sr .; grandmother, Jane (Polar) Van Zile; aunts, Mable and Loretta Williams; close friends, Ronnie McGeshick and Craig Fox; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Traditional services will be held starting on Saturday, June 11, at 5 p.m. CDT at his father’s home; 4702 Crozer St. Watersmeet, and continuing on Sunday, June 12, at 10 a.m. CDT at the same location. Burial will be in the Old Indian Village Cemetery in Watersmeet.
