HURLEY — Deputy Treasurer Clara Maki was appointed as the new Iron County treasurer during an approximately 30 minute meeting of the Iron County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Maki thanked the board for its support.
“I’d like to thank you all for your support and your confidence in me. I appreciate it, thank you,” Maki said.
She said she was appointing Debra Massoglia, of Saxon — formerly with the Iron County Credit Union — as her deputy. Massoglia started her job Thursday.
Maki replaces former treasurer Mark Beaupre, who retired this month.
Maki filed papers to run for a full term as treasurer in the upcoming election this fall.
