Lorraine M. Corcoran

HURLEY, Wis. - Lorraine M. Corcoran, 87, of Ironwood, Mich., passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, in Hurley.

She was born May 31, 1929, in Ironwood, the daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Staszek) Raymond.

She attended Norrie Grade School and the St. Ambrose Catholic High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1947.

She was employed as a bookkeeper at O.K. Auto Parts in Ironwood. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, crafts, painting and baking. She especially enjoyed walking with friends and sitting outside. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and a former member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

On Sept. 12, 1953, she was married to Robert J. Corcoran at St. Michael's Catholic Church by the late Fr. Francis Ronkowski. Robert preceded her in death on June 2, 2003.

Lorraine is survived by five sons, William (Barbara) Corcoran and Neil (Kim) Corcoran, both of Ironwood, Michael (Mary) Corcoran of O'Fallon, Mo., Gregory (Rosanne) Corcoran of Hazelwood, Mo., and Stephen (Tara) Corcoran of Port Orchard, Wash .; her daughter, Patricia (Don) Corcoran-Larsen of Circle Pines, Minn .; grandchildren, Diane, Dave (Brooke), Grace (Joe), Ann, Christina, Kevin, Jason and Sean; and her great-grandson, Jack. Also surviving are extended Suzik family members; special friends, Jeri and Karen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth; and a special friend, JoAnn. She was also preceded in death by her son, Christopher, twin of Stephen, in 1962.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with Fr. Robb Jurkovich as celebrant. Lorraine's family will receive relatives and friends starting at 9 a.m. until the time of mass, in the St. Joseph's Family Room at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.

Pallbearers are Rod Smith, Bud Johnson, Rod Holm, John Trolla, Tony Pollack, Keith Johnson, John Siira and Darryl Kosma.

A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the Elk & Hound, Ironwood.
