WAKEFIELD, Mich. - James Anthony Golombiski, 68, of Bessemer, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Wakefield, Mich.
He was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Wakefield, the son of the late John and Olive (Russ) Golombiski.
James enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1965 and served his country until 1968. He worked at the White Pine Mine, the Chrysler Corporation in Ann Arbor for nearly 20 years, and at a marble manufacturing plant in Florida. He was a quick witted and easy going man, who was always there for everyone. He especially enjoyed cooking for many and socializing with friends and family.
He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy and Johnny Golombiski, both of Alabama; his daughter, Cassandra Anderson of Minnesota; three grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, JoAnn (Bill) Peterson of Bessemer, Jackie Golombiski of Ironwood, Mary (Doug) Carlson of Bessemer, Sandy (Ken) Seymour of Green Bay, Wis., Ricky (Terena) Golombiski of Ironwood, Bobby (Barb) Golombiski of Ironwood, Vicki Golombiski of Bessemer, and Paula (Cory) Koski, both of Bessemer; his Uncle Wally (Bev) Golombiski of Bessemer; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 27 and VFW Post 3673 of Bessemer.
