Karen I. Bielawski

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Karen I. Bielawski, 77, of Marquette, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 11, 2016, at Mill Creek Assisted Living in Marquette with her loving family at her side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.

Karen was born on Oct. 26, 1938, in Walnut Grove, Minn., a daughter of Frank and Orel (Parker) Keith. She had resided in Marquette since 2013.

For many years, Karen was employed at Sellstrom Manufacturing Company in Ironwood, retiring from Jacquart Manufacturing Company.

In her free time, Karen enjoyed reading, working with stain glass and exploring genealogy. She was a former member of the Jaycees and Jaycettes, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ironwood Historical Society. She was also a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood.

Survivors include three daughters, Lorelei Lynn (Steve) Bibler, of Hesperia, Calif., Dawn (John) Mayotte, of Negaunee, and Crystal Ann (Pete) Massoglia, of Marquette; five grandchildren, Deanna and Leah Bibler, and Ian Mayotte, Brittany and Stephanie Massoglia; also two stepgranddaughters and six stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald (Bonnie) Keith, of Willmar, Minn., and Michael (Vicki) Keith, of Savage, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Robert Bielawski, on Feb. 18, 2014; a sister, Judy Malvin, and a brother, Steven Keith.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m., in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hurley, Wis., with Rev. Robb Jurkovich officiating. A luncheon and celebration of Karen’s life will follow at the American Legion, 201 Iron St., Hurley, from 2 to 4 p.m.
