Leonard K. Perry

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Leonard K. Perry, 73, of Ironwood Township, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, in his home.

He was born May 19, 1943, in South Bend, Ind., son of the late Francis and Ruth (Hutt) Perry.

He was married to the former Laura E. Richards on May 30, 1964, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Laura preceded him in death on May 23, 2010.

Leonard was employed at Fisher Body in Kalamazoo from 1968 until moving to Ironwood Township in 1984. He then worked at Norco Windows in Marenisco until 1997, when he went to work for Peter Koruga and Sons Construction in Wakefield, retiring as warehouse supervisor in 2008.

Leonard enjoyed hunting, feeding the deer and going to camp in Marenisco with his son, Jim. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan.

Surviving are his son, Jim (Tammy), Ironwood Township; daughter, Paula (Marty) Westeen, Plover, Wis .; grandson, Nathan Westeen, Plover; brother, Ed (Karen), Las Vegas; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Peter and Kay Koruga and Shizue Richards, all of Wakefield, Margie Richards, Ypsilanti; and Eino Piilola, of Hurley, Wis.

Besides his parents and wife, Leonard was predeceased by a brother, Hank; sisters, Audrey Howe and Mary Eggleston; brothers-in-law, Jack and Earl Richards; and sister-in-law, Jean Piilola.

Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Private family services and inurnment will be held.
