STURGEON BAY, Wis. — Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Kujanson, 62, of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Bessemer, Mich., passed away at her home on Aug. 16, 2016.
She was born March 13, 1954, at Grand View Hospital in Ironwood, Mich., the daughter of Taisto A. Hendrickson and Elizabeth H. (Nowakowski) Hendrickson. Kathy attended St. Sebastian Catholic Church and School in Bessemer and graduated from Bessemer High School in 1972.
She went on to study nursing at Gogebic Community College. On Sept. 22, 1973, Kathy married Dennis Kujanson at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. They shared 24 years of marriage.
While living in Bessemer, Kathy initially worked at the Dairy Queen. Her primary employment was with Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort as a housekeeper. When Kathy moved to Sturgeon Bay, she was employed at McDonalds, Steel Bridge Café and most recently at Q Mart.
Kathy was a member of St. Sebastian Church in Bessemer and she attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, where she sang in the church choir. Kathy enjoyed needlepoint, solving puzzles and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
She is survived by her son, Dale (Tiffany Averitt) Kujanson, of Ironwood; her former husband, Dennis Kujanson, of Bessemer; and her dog, Poppy, whom she loved very much.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
No public service will be held at this time.
