Joseph Jackson Sr.

WAUSAU, Wis. - Joseph Jackson Sr., age 87, of Watersmeet, Mich., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Joe was born on May 16, 1929, in Tripoli, the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (nee Young) Jackson. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Joe retired from Chrysler after working there for 30 years. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed watching old Western movies and hunting. Joe loved his family and will be missed very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace; and son, Joseph Jackson Jr.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Julia and Patricia; grandchildren, Brian, Dawn, Anthony, Marsha, Jason, Jewel, Corrin, Ben, Joseph III, Brandon, Farrah, Heather, Courtney, Jake and Amanda; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Traditional big drum services will be held beginning today until Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Multi-Purpose Building in Lac du Flambeau. Interment and full military honors will follow the service.
