WHEATON, Ill. - E. Pauline "Polly" "Sis" Trestrail, 89, formerly of Wakefield, Mich., passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Wheaton.
Polly was born on Jan. 13, 1927, in Minneapolis, to Lola and Paul Bloom, joining her older brother Ralph. She was raised in Center City, Minn., and completed one year of college at the University of Minnesota before marrying Dick Trestrail of Shafer, Minn.
Polly and Dick spent their married life moving around the United States, finally achieving their dream of retiring to the Upper Peninsula. They enjoyed 20 years of hiking in the woods, canoeing, and took pleasure in their outdoor pursuits. After Dick's death in 2008, Polly moved to Wheaton to be near her children.
Polly is survived by two children, Candy (Bob) Maffei, Wheaton, and Bill (Sandra) Trestrail, Oak Park; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Lola (Stromgren) Bloom; and one brother, Ralph.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Wakefield United Methodist Church, 706 Putnam St., Wakefield, with the Rev. Ted Trudgeon officiating.
Immediately following, luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall.
