Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
IRONWOOD - Gogebic Community College has received a donation of two birthing beds from the Aspirus Medford, Wis., Hospital.
"GCC received two Hill-Rom Affinity II birthing beds that will be used in the nursing skills lab and simulations," said Nicole Rowe, GCC Director of Allied Health programs.
The donation enables students to become familiar with the equipment they will be using in the hospital to gain confidence in their skills.
"In combination with GCC's birthing simulator, students will be exposed to realistic scenarios in a risk-free environment, allowing them to practice patient care before entering into the health care environment," Rowe said.
"We are thrilled to provide these birthing beds to the professional staff and students to further the education of future medical professionals," said Catherine Leifeld, Marketing & Development Director at Aspirus Medford Hospital.
