Bessemer — A Bessemer woman pleaded guilty to a felony count in Gogebic County Circuit Court related to a stolen credit card.
Karin Marie George, 37, pleaded guilty to stealing/retaining a financial transaction device without consent, a potential four-year felony.
The plea comes as part of a plea agreement that will have two other four-year felonies — two counts of illegal use of a transaction device — dismissed at sentencing.
All three counts also carry potential fines up to $5,000.
Gogebic County Prosecutor Nick Jacobs told the Daily Globe the charges stem from a Aug. 30 incident where George took a picture of someone’s credit card left on the counter of a local veterinarian clinic.
“(George) snapped a picture of it, and then went to a few merchants and said, ‘I don’t have my card with me, but here are my numbers.” And they allowed her to get away with that, which is unfortunate,” Jacobs said, adding that the case didn’t involve large amounts of money.
