ONTONAGON, Mich. — Helen Marie Lindstrom, 79, of Ontonagon, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, after a lengthy stay at Aspirus Long Term Care with her family by he side.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1937, to George and Hilda (Tikka) Laukka in Hancock. She attended school in Hancock and Chassell. On Oct. 9, 1954, Helen married Roy Lindstrom in Laurium. They made their home in Ontonagon.
Helen was a loving and doting wife, mother and grandmother. Her love continues in the hearts of her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, picnics, camping and snowmobiling with family and close friends.
Helen is survived by her husband, Roy; daughters; Susie (David) Guilbault, Shelly (Tom) Quick, Carol (Elmer) Marks and Connie (Pete) Thompson; son; Raymond (Sheryl) Lindstrom; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her stepsister, Mary Erva; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Catherine Laukka; brother- and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Laukka; stepbrother, Robert Eade; stepbrother-in-law, Gerald Erva; her daughter, Sherry; nephew, Raymond Erva; and niece, Judy Erva.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at The Eagle’s in Ontonagon.
