Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties

Ironwood - Mary Hampston Kusz, food service director for the Ironwood Area K-12 School District, arranged to feed parents of Ironwood's K-5 students Tuesday.
She expected 85 parents, but would feed more than 700 people total.
Kusz had over a dozen volunteers from grades 6-12 to assist serving.
Kusz prepared a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce and her very own home-cooked pumpkin pie.
It is the first year Ironwood has done this and Kusz said she "wanted a chance to show the changes in the cafeteria firsthand to the parents."
Those changes include a full salad bar option, a prepared chef's salad, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, subs, wraps, soup and chili.
In seeing how successful it was and the good turnout, Kusz felt the school might offer a spring meal also, possibly around Easter.
