LAKE GOGEBIC, Mich. - Maureen G. Orlich, 73, a resident of Lake Gogebic for the past 20 years, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Nov. 21, 2016.
Maureen was born on March 2, 1943, in Detroit, the daughter of William and Glennis (Knox) McMillan. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1961 and from Wayne State University in 1967.
On June 29, 1968, Maureen married Louis Orlich, of Romeo.
She was a high school teacher in Memphis for 30 years before retiring to the Western Upper Peninsula in 1996.
Maureen had many interests, including painting, sewing and gardening. She was an avid reader, knowledgeable on many topics. She was especially fond of wildlife and scenic photography.
Maureen is survived by many family members and cherished friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis, on May 7, 2008; and a daughter, Diane Hogan.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel, 806 Putnam St., in Wakefield. The Rev. Timothy J. Steckling, pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ramsay, will officiate.

Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, in the spring.
