Bessemer - Despite the snow, local runners showed-up for the 4th Annual Frozen Rundra Saturday morning in Bessemer.
Given this year's theme of "Ugly Sweaters," many runners came wearing sweaters, tutus and other festive apparel. Participants had the option to choose a two- or six-mile run, or a three-mile walk, through the city streets.
Amanda Corullo, of Montreal, has participated in the run for all four years.
"I love this run, it's a fun one, and it's for a good cause," said Corullo.
Tim Roe, of Ironwood, was the first participant to complete the two-mile run at just over 13 minutes.
After the race, there was a pancake breakfast and award ceremony. Gift certificates, door prizes and other items donated by local businesses were presented to runners.
The event was put on by the Gogebic-Ontonagon Community Action Agency. The fundraiser helps the non-profit to meet their financial needs.
The agency offers assistance to community members through an array of programs including food and housing programs, Head Start and senior services.
