SAN LEANDRO, Calif. - Lois Silk (nee Kalwasinski), 61, of San Leandro, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016.
She was born on July 10, 1955, in Wakefield, Mich., to the late Norbert "Curly" and Helmi Kalwasinski.
She graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in 1973 and later moved to California, where she worked as an office secretary/manager at multiple car dealerships in the Oakland and Fremont areas, then worked as a waitress at Dicks Restaurant in San Leandro for many years.
Lois is survived by her long-time companion, Klaus Marquardt; daughter, Kelli Dentone (Rome), of Modesto; son, Jaime (Sara) Silk, of San Diego; grandchildren, Jayde, Ramsey, Bradley, Aaron and Austin; sisters, Helen Urpila, of Beach Park, Ill., Shirley (John) Fendley, of Oconto, Wis., Kathy Kaplan (Phil), of San Jose, and Colleen Garrett, of Iron Mountain, Mich .; four nieces; four nephews; several great-nieces and -nephews, and other extended family.
Lois is preceded in death by her father, Norbert (Curly) Kalwasinski; mother, Helmi McLaughlin; stepfather, Jack McLaughlin, and brothers, Norbert and Robert Kalwasinski.
