Robert L. Blake

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Robert L. Blake, 58, of Ironwood, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 21, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 12, 1958, in Graceville, Minn., son of the late Bernard and Emma (Barringer) Blake, and graduated from high school in Ortonville, Minn., in 1976. He received a degree in airplane mechanics from Thief River Falls Community College, Thief River Falls, Minn., and moved to Ironwood in 1981, where he worked as a local mechanic. For the past 15 years, he was employed at Action Floors in Mercer, Wis.

Bob enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling and his dogs, Bode and Cheyenne.

Surviving are a son, Aaron (Heather), Grand Forks, N.D .; daughter, Andrea Blake, Ironwood; four grandchildren, Hannah, Morgyn, Kayleigh and Anthony Blake; brothers, James (Terry), Fargo, N.D. and Bill, Canistota, S.D .; and sisters, Judy (Phil) Kucera, Ironwood, Kathy (Tom) McGee, Canistota, and Debbie (Bob) Loy, Porter, Minn.

Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Tom.

Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating.

Committal and inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, in the spring.
