Robert N. 'Bob' Houtari

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. - Robert N. "Bob" Houtari, 76 of Hurley, died on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. He was born March 31, 1940 in South Range, Mich., the son of the late Fredrick and Edna (Elsila) Huotari.

He enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps on January 22, 1959 and was honorably discharged in June of 1961.

He is survived by his sons, Brian (Julie) Houtari and Michael (Marie) Houtari both of Rush City, Minn .; one daughter, Joanne (David) Enders of Keil, Wis .; his brother, Jack Huotari of Ironwood; three sisters, Nancy (Stanley) Carlson of Duluth, Minn., Linda (Andrew) Skoveria of Hurley, and Annette (Larry Harro) Anderson of Ironwood Township; sister-in-law, Kim Huotari of Ironwood; special friends, Vivian Saari and Leonard Zaleski and Robert Oja; special nephew RJ (Erin) Huotari of Ironwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Ron, Denny, and Jim; and two sisters, Judy and Doris.

A Military Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood. Full Military Rites will be conducted by Ironwood American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Spring Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery Veteran's Plot in Ironwood.
