Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
KEWEENAW COUNTY, Mich. - Our best friend, our father, Price Mullineux, 54, of Ironwood, suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack Tuesday morning, Jan. 3, 2017, while skiing with his children at Mt. Bohemia in Keweenaw County.
Price was born Nov. 14, 1962, in Evanston, Ill., son of the late Laurence Jr. and Anne (Penfield) Mullineux, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood in 1980. He attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton and Franklin College in Franklin, Ind., graduating with honors as a registered nurse from Gogebic Community College in 2012. He then was employed at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley, Wis., and currently worked in the emergency room and intensive care unit at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.
The love in Price's heart was as big as his smile and traveled as far as his laugh. He lived for his children and will be dearly missed by all. Quoting his son, Michael, "I plan to honor him; he lives through me. I'm half Price."
Surviving are his daughter, Kirstin Mullineux, 26, of Hancock; son, Michael, 23, of Ironwood; brother, Chip (Cathy), Lac du Flambeau, Wis .; and sister, Suzie Mullineux, Leadville, Colo.
Besides his parents, Price was predeceased by a sister, Chris Mullineux, on Feb. 15, 2010.
Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Price Mullineux will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, beginning at 4 p.m., at Don & GG's on Cloverland Drive in Ironwood.
There will be a second gathering to celebrate Price's life this summer, at a date, time and place to be announced.
