RHINELANDER, Wis. - Richard A. "Yaco" Yacobucci, 85, a resident of Watersmeet, Mich., and formerly of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.
Yaco was born on June 26, 1931, in Cleveland, to Michael and Caroline Yacobucci. He married his wife, Fran Yacobucci, on June 9, 1972, in Chicago.
He worked for the J.W. Toumey Nursery with U.S. Forest Service in Watersmeet for many years, and he worked for the Gateway Golf Course in Land O'Lakes for 20 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter and a logger.
Yaco loved to play golf and fish with his many friends. He was a member of the Lions Club International. Yaco served in the U.S. Army during Korea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Nancy and Dolores.
He is survived by his wife, Fran Yacobucci, of Watersmeet; children, Richard (Dotty) Yacobucci, of Chicago, Sharon (Michael) Espinoza, of Chicago, Celia (Robert) Kistler, of Joliet, Ill., and Carolyn Yacobucci, of Chicago; a brother, Jim (Mary) Palumbo, of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
