WINNECONNE, Wis. — Mary Elizabeth Trezise Johnson Hurdle passed away on March 15, 2017, in Winneconne.
A graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Nursing, she was born in 1929 to Arthur and Myrtle Trezise in Ironwood, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, Don Hurdle; three children, Debbie (Steve) Viktora, Winnetka, Ill., David (Shelley) Johnson, Rockford, Ill., and Dr. Phillip (Molly) Johnson, Winneconne; her brother, Dr. Robert (Joan) Trezise, Lansing; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a niece and two nephews; and her cousin, Debbie Semo, Ironwood.
She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Jr., who died in Germany in 1945; and her first husband, Dr. Pieratt Johnson.
Besides her degree in nursing, she later obtained a degree in psychiatric social work. Over the years, Mary lived life to the fullest in a number of different places, but her heart always remained with the North Country, its beautiful lakes, and Ironwood.
Family and friends will gather together in memory of Mary in Winneconne, tentatively scheduled for April 29.
