CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. - Shirley A. Raffaelli, 81, formerly of Nisula , died peacefully Friday morning, March 31, 2017, at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, surrounded by her loving family.
The former Shirley Miller was born March 25, 1936, in Augusta, Mich., daughter of the late James Lucas and Dorothy (Kyle) Miller.
She was married to Elmer Haustein in 1955. They later divorced.
She then married Marv Raffaelli in 1986. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Shirley's favorite place was her little house in Nisula where she lived with Marv. She worked at the Hilltop Restaurant in L'Anse baking big sweet rolls. Her hobbies included feeding deer and birds and growing flowers. Her favorite sports teams were the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. She loved traveling to Arizona and Nevada for the winter. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivng are three sons, Ken Haustein, Midland, Rod (Sandy) Haustein, Iron Mountain, and Kevin (Deb) Haustein, Bessemer; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Sattler, Ventura, Calif .; an aunt, Virginia Cole, Oceanside, Calif .; and special cousins, Donna Weigel, Oxnard, Calif., and Pam Miller, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by brothers, James and Richard Miller.
Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Services and inurnment will be private.
