Linda J. Ryskewecz

HURLEY, Wis. - Linda J. Ryskewecz, 61, of Hurley, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in Hurley.

Linda was born on July 26, 1955, in Ironwood, Mich., the daughter of the late Stanley "Honey" and Ardyce (nee Nelson) Traczyk. She graduated in 1973 from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley.

Linda worked for the Iron County Miner, Villa Home Health, Iron County Extension office, and became the deputy clerk for the city of Hurley, eventually becoming the city clerk, retiring in July 2015.

She married Michael Ryskewecz on July 27, 1974, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. Linda and Michael had 43 wonderful years together.

Her hobbies include traveling, shopping, reading, exercising, cooking, walking her dogs and snowshoeing.

Linda is survived by her husband, Michael, of Hurley; daughter, Tina Ryskewecz, of Nashville, Tenn .; brothers, Brian Traczyk and Gary "High Rise" Traczyk, both of Hurley; sister-in-law Susan Buck, of Ironwood; brothers-in-law, Peter, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Gary (Karen) and Chuck, both of Ironwood; and her loving dog, Tasha. She is further survived by nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at Ketola-Burla Funeral Home, 635 E. Ayer St., Ironwood with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service. Burial will take place at the Hurley Cemetery at a later date.

There will be a Celebration of Linda's Life at the Iron Horse Saloon, downtown Hurley, at 3:30 p.m.
