Area emergency first responders and hospital staff attended the event. The program included a presentation from Lisa Ebert, stroke coordinator for the Aspirus system, followed by a scenario that included the intake and transfer of a patient. Nearly a million people will experience a stroke this year and the longer it takes to recognize and receive medical attention, the greater chance for lifelong effects or even death. One of the goals of the training was to ensure the most efficient and best care in identifying and treating a potential stroke.
