IRONWOOD — The Ironwood City Commission will consider ratifying a two-year contract with union employees today.
Ratification of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1538 collective bargaining agreement for 2017-19 will be considered in a closed session, followed by action in an open session, if the deal is finalized.
Commissioners will also consider approving salary adjustments for non-union employees in the city.
A side letter of agreement with Police Officers Association of Michigan regarding scheduling a utility officer position is also on the agenda.
The purpose of the letter is to amend the current collective bargaining agreement between they city and police officers’ union to exempt two public safety officers from work schedule requirements.
The regular meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in city commission chambers on the second floor of the Memorial Building.
