UPSON, Wis. — The Heritage Chapter of the North Country Trail Association is hosting a National Trails Day Hike on Saturday, June 3, 2017 near Upson, Wisconsin. The guided hike will be from Casey Sag Road to Wren Falls. The Hike will begin at 9:00 a.m., where the North Country National Scenic Trail crosses Casey Sag Road.
The hike is 3.5 miles long and is expected to take 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete, including stops at the Gold Mine West Campsite and a Scenic Overlook. Be sure to bring a snack and some water. Dress in appropriate clothing for hiking and be aware the trail might be wet in spots. There are latrines at the Gold Mine campsite and Wren Falls. Upon reaching Wren Falls we will shuttle drivers back to their cars on Casey Sag Road.
The rest of the hikers can explore the Wren Falls area until their drivers come back to pick them up. This section of trail is considered moderate in difficulty.
Directions to the National Trails Day Hike starting location: From Upson take Hwy 77 west 2.5 miles to Casey Sag Road. Head North on Casey Sag Road for 2.75 miles to where the NCT crosses the road near the crest of a hill. Parking is available alongside the road.
