IRONWOOD THIRD grade teachers, from left, Noel Aho, Tom Mott and Mary Sommer jump into the Gile Flowage at the County C boat landing Thursday. The jump was one of the rewards the district's second through sixth graders earned for reading books and successfully passing accompanying tests. Mott, one of the organizers of the event, said each passed test earned a certain number of points and the teachers agreed to complete a certain activity on video for each point level achieved. In keeping with the theme of "Jumping into a Book," a group of teachers plans to skydive this summer as the students also completed a higher challenge. More than 22,000 quizzes were passed by the students in the combined grades.
