IRONWOOD, Mich. - Tristan J. Norman, 20, of Ironwood Township, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Ironwood.
He was born April 15, 1997, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of Chris Norman and Mysty (Stone) Houchin, and graduated from South Fork High School in Stuart, Fla., in 2015. Moving to Ironwood Township, he then attended Gogebic Community College.
Tristan was currently employed as a utility clerk at Super One in Ironwood. He enjoyed playing video games, anime, driving with his friends and standup comedy. He loved pets and animals and volunteered at a cat rescue shelter while living in Hobe Sound, Fla.
Surviving are his father, Chris (Sheryl) Norman, Ironwood Township; mother, Mysty (Sean) Houchin, Hobe Sound; sisters, Caitlyn Snelson (Alex Hardt), Fayetteville, N.C., and Heaven Bradbury, Hobe Sound; paternal grandparents, Marlene and Jim Maffesanti, Pence, Wis .; maternal grandfather, James Baldree, Germantown, Md .; stepbrother, David Houchin, Yelm, Wash .; stepsisters, Kelly Saippa, Marquette, and Lee Saippa, Hurley, Wis .; step maternal grandparents, Jim and Dorinda Houchin, Port St. Lucie, Fla .; step paternal grandparents, Gerald and Mae Trotochaud, Bruce Crossing; aunts, Allyson Norman, Pensacola, Fla., and Danyelle (Sam) Gibson, Ohio; uncle, Richard (Laura) Stone, Hagerstown, Md .; his girlfriend, Jamie Brown, Ironwood; and numerous pets.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nita Baldree; and paternal grandfather, Allan Norman.
A memorial gathering in celebration of Tristan's life will be held Saturday, June 17, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a time for sharing of memories at 2:30 p.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to HOPE Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 261, Ironwood, MI 49938.
