IRONWOOD, Mich. - Veronica H. Krenzel, 71, of Ironwood Township, died Saturday evening, June 3, 2017, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.
She was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Walter and Regina (Kuczala) Krenzel, attended Roosevelt Grade School and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1963. She then was employed as a billing clerk at Ford Hospital in Detroit for many years, retiring and moving back to Ironwood Township in 2003.
Veronica was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood and the former St. Michael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading English detective books, watching DVDs, horses and Greek food. Although Veronica was not a sports fan, she always did ask if the Lions beat the Packers and also how Verlander was doing.
Surviving are a brother, Donald, of St. Louis Park, Minn .; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Walter "Jo Jo" Krenzel Jr. and Gerald Krenzel; and special aunt, Stephany Krenzel.
Out of respect for Veronica's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich presiding, assisted by the Rev. Jean Rencontre.
Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Ironwood Carnegie Library, 235 E. Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.
