MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Margie Chiapuzio, 77, a long-time resident of Milwaukee, formerly of Bessemer, Mich., passed away peacefully Thursday, July 13, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her devoted family and loved ones.
Margie was born on Sept. 9, 1939, in Ironwood, Mich., a daughter of Domenic Anton and Albertina Marie (Callovi) Chiapuzio. She attended A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer and graduated in 1957.
After high school, Margie moved to Milwaukee, where she bartended at Whaley's Bar and the Orchard Inn. Margie returned for many summers to northern Wisconsin, and worked at Voss Birchwood Lodge in Manitowish Waters. She later was employed as a supervisor at Promark Packaging Company in Milwaukee until her retirement.
Margie enjoyed playing cards, especially Skip-Bo and the Game 13.
Margie is survived by two brothers, Jim (Carol) Chiapuzio, Bessemer, and Bob (Carole) Chiapuzio, Lake Havasu City, Ariz .; two sisters, Janet (John) Juonie, Schofield, and Debi (Bill) Joki, Lake Havasu City; her brother-in-law, Chuck Tauer, Bessemer; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Chiapuzio, Ironwood, and Mary Ellen Chiapuzio, Marenisco, Mich .; a very special friend of the family, Nancy Froemming, Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Jack Chiapuzio and Domenic Chiapuzio Jr .; and three sisters, Janet Grace, in infancy, Peggy Chiapuzio and Gladys Tauer.
In accordance with Margie's wishes, cremation will take place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., in Bessemer, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant.
Rite of Committal and inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.
Luncheon will be served at the church hall following the cemetery service.
