Hurley - Overcast weather did not overshadow Hurley's Festival Italiano Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of people gathered on Silver Street to celebrate Italian heritage despite the clouds.
The 3-on-3 basketball tournament and human foosball tournament, following the two-mile Dago Dash, kicked the festivities off.
Beginning at 11 a.m. the craft show started featuring many items including neon signs as well as jewelry and much more. Food vendors also lined Silver Street selling various Italian dishes.
Throughout the celebration, live music was featured and the Lake Effect band entertained the crowd from noon to 2 p.m. Other acts featured included Marty's Goldenaires, Gypsy Road and an REO Speedwagon tribute band, PM Project 3:13.
There were also plenty of activities for the kids, such as a bounce house, bungie jumping trampolines, games and face painting and balloon twisting.
