HURLEY — The city of Hurley received a favorable 2016 audit report at its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday.
A representative of the Wipfli company presented an overview of the audit, saying the city received an unmodified, or “clean” opinion.
There were no concerns in the water-sewer budget. A few of the departments went over their budgets for the year, however.
In other business, the council adopted an ordinance on housing and property maintenance.
Council members set trick-or-treating hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
They noted some parents won’t get home from work until after 4 p.m. and it would be better if Halloween fell on a weekend, but decided to go with the Tuesday hours.
A 6:30 p.m. closing for trick-or-treating was discussed, but it’s already dark at that time.
The city council agreed to hold a special 2018 budget planning workshop next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
