MEDFORD, Wis. - Helen Miller, 99, of Medford, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, at Aspirus Care and Rehabilitation Center in Medford, where she had resided for the past seven years.
Helen was born June 29, 1918, at Mellen, Wis., and attended Mellen area schools. After her education, she worked as a housekeeper in the Mellen area.
She was married June 27, 1936, at Pence to Carl Peter Miller and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Following her marriage, she resided in Pence, Wis., and worked at the Pence Post Office for a period of time. For most of her life, she was a housewife and mother. She moved to Medford in 2010 to be near family. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking, polka music and she adored little children.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, and was a past member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Pence.
She is survived by children Sabina (Tom) Strama, of Medford, Dick (Marilyn) Miller, of Medford, and Glen (Pat) Miller, of Hurley; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Verona (Earl "Smudge") Swetkovich, of Pence, and Alice Tafelski, of Mellen.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Kaseno, mother, Anna (Turney) Kaseno, sisters Ann Miller, Pauline Reinerio, Rose Neubauer, Marie Calligaro and Mary Kaseno, and brothers Mike and John Kaseno.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 215 S. Washington Ave., Medford, with Father David Neuschwander officiating, preceded by visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Mellen Union Cemetery, Mellen, at a later date.
