Ironwood - Friends and family came out to the Historic Ironwood Theatre Saturday for the ACCENT! show choir's annual Christmas concert.
"(The students) were so, so good and they worked so hard. I'm so proud of them," Ironwood vocal music instructor Lydia Patritto said after the concert.
The group sang a variety of Christmas songs, while performing routines choreographed by junior Kinley Lyons. Some members of the choir also sang in smaller arrangements, in addition to the whole group.
Open to Ironwood students in grades nine through 12, Patritto said members had to audition in spring to join the group when school started up in fall.
As a show choir, Patritto said the group did a bit of everything - ranging from the public performances to Solo and Ensemble competitions.
"We've been working on Christmas music since September, and now we'll start working on our spring show and festival music and Solo and Ensemble," she said.
She was especially relieved to hear the audience's positive reaction to Saturday's show, given this was only her second concert in the district.
Her first concert was the district's elementary school concert, which is generally a much different experience for both participants and the audience.
