HURLEY, Wis. — William C. Morgando, 90, of Maple Woods Road, Hurley, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at home. He was born March 22, 1927, in Pence, Wis., son of the late Louis and Frieda (Magni) Morgando. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He had worked in the Montreal Mine and for many years he operated Morgan’s Campground on the Gile Flowage.
On May 12, 1951, he was united in marriage with Patricia Ann Podhola in Mellen.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of Hurley; one son, William C. Jr. (Connie) of Riverside, California; three grandchildren, Sarah, Christine, and Michael; one great-granddaughter, Olivia; and three sisters, Louise Morgando and Irene DeRosso, both of Hurley, and Loretta Laguna of Pence.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Holly; four brothers, Theodore, Joseph, Louis, and Walter; and two sisters, Dorothy Morello and Florence Gulan.
