MELLEN, Wis. - Helen L. Trombi, 79, of Montreal, passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert, daughter Jean and son Jim at the Mellen Manor Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility in Mellen.
Formerly Helen Lucille Wiener, Helen was born April 13, 1938 in Mellen. Helen is the daughter of the late William and Martha Wiener. She attended school in Mellen.
She spent her life as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved caring and spending time with her family. Easter was her favorite holiday and cooking and baking were her favorite hobbies.
On Sept. 15, 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Trombi at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mellen. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jim (Lisa) of Minocqua, Wis, and daughter, Jean (Ted) Koplin, of Yorkville, Ill .; seven grandchildren, Randy Koplin of Yorkville, Ill., Eric Koplin of Yorkville, Ill., Paul (Sara) of Sandwich, Ill., Brittany (Geoff) of Sandwich, Ill., Nikki (Nik) of Wasilla, Alaska, Cassie of Green Bay and Chase, of Minocqua; seven great-grandchildren, Helaina, Kole, Fisher, Charlotte, Hunter, Ethen and Aelin; a brother, Jim Wiener of Highbridge, Wis .; three sisters: Cynthia and Lois of Glidden, Wis. and Barbara of Spooner, Wis .; and numerous and nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Randy, on Oct. 27, 2005; sisters Kathleen, Dolly and Ruth, and brothers Louis, William and John.
Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM, celebrant.
Luncheon will follow in the parish hall.
Rite of Committal and inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley, in the spring.
