CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. — Jack Matthew Pottala, 83, of Kenton, Mich. passed away on Jan. 14, 2018, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, where he had been a resident for the last four years.
Jack was born in Kenton, Michigan, to Charles and Anita Pottala on May 20, 1934.
He married Dorothy Timoshuk and the couple had seven children. He worked in the woods as a self-employed logger until his retirement.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his children, Robert (Darla) Timoshuk, Kenosha, Tina (Roger) LaBine, Bonnie Pottala, Linda Pottala, of Trout Creek, Jack Pottala Jr., of Ohio, Laura Pottala, of Georgia, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kathleen, and a grandson, Robert “Bert” Timoshuk, his brothers, Toivo and Carl, and sister, Julia.
Visitation will be at the Cane Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing today, Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Cane Funeral Home. A spring burial will take place at the Kenton Cemetery, with the Cane Funeral Home assisting the family.
