DE PERE, Wis. — Virginia Bee (Chouinard) Ferkovich passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Jan. 15, 2018.
The daughter of Louis J. and Arley L (Rund) Chouinard, Virginia was born on Sept. 9, 1934, in Ironwood, Mich. She attended and graduated from the Ironwood Area Schools system.
On July 16, 1955, she married Robert J. Ferkovich. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Roberta (Gary) Mack and Jules Ann (Denis) Schadrie, both of De Pere. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Robert and Nicholas Schadrie, Tina, Hallie and Matthew Gerovac and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Allison, Erik, Corey and Emily.
She is further survived by a brother, Louis J. Chouinard, and a sister, Carol (Raymond) Peterson, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Jean, and her husband, Clifford Gertz; Arley, and her husband, Charley Boggetto, a nephew, Eugene Boggetto, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Chouinard, and a very special aunt, Evelyn Lonson.
In the profound words of her great-granddaughter, Allison, “Now Grandma can have all of her memories back.”
Per Virginia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family. There will be no services. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their sincere and most grateful thanks to the staff at Grancare Nursing Center and Unity Hospice. Your compassion and care for Virginia was never unnoticed and will never be forgotten. Special thanks to Sister Marguerite Rollo for her endless hours of time and prayers with Virginia.
