BRUCE CROSSING, Mich. – James Alan Niemi, 62, a lifelong resident of Bruce Crossing, died early Monday morning, March 26, 2018.
Jim was born on Sept. 15, 1955, in Wakefield, a son of Albert and Judy (Mattson) Niemi. He attended Ewen-Trout Creek High School and graduated in 1973.
Jim made several trips out West with friends, Mike and Marvin. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader.
Jim is survived by a brother, Bob (Stella), Wakefield; his sister-in-law, Cindy, Bruce Crossing; his Aunt Doris, Bruce Crossing; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; and numerous dear friends, including Barb's daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis; his special friend, Barb, and a nephew, Josh.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m. EDT, preceded by visitation at noon EDT, at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Bruce Crossing, with Pastor Jesse Aho officiating.
A committal service and interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Bruce Crossing, in the spring.
