Ironwood Township — While there were jokes about snow still being on the ground, the Ironwood Township Board of Trustees confirmed Monday the township’s spring cleanup is set for June 9.
While the township will be receiving grant funding for a tire disposal event, tires won’t be accepted at the spring cleanup.
“There will be a separate cleanup date for that, which will be announced soon,” Supervisor Steve Boyd said after the meeting.
The cleanup will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. that day.
In other action:
—The board approved a budget amendment for the township’s water fund, transferring $1,500 from the fund’s contractual costs account to its equipment account. The money is half the cost of a line detector, with the remaining $1,500 coming from the township’s sewer fund.
—The board passed two resolutions updating which township employees could sign checks.
—No formal action was taken on the purchase a new lock system for the township’s fire hall, as more information was need.
—The board also didn’t act on the purchase if fire number signs as more information was needed.
—Township Treasurer Maria Graser reported residents can now pay their water, sewer and garbage bills on the township’s website.
—Boyd reported the board’s library subcommittee will meet for the first time at 3:45 p.m. today.
